Now it's time for a little Q&A, let's go!

1. How long have you been creating and how did you get started?
My name is Gloria and I am a dollmaker. I create handmade dolls that celebrate the vibrancy and beauty of my Mexican culture. I have been making dolls for 9 years.

2. What is/are your favorite Surebonder product(s):
My favorite product is the fabric hot glue sticks and colored glue sticks. Surebonder fabric glue sticks have been the only brand I have found to be reliable and durable.

3. What inspires you to create?  What do you love most and what is the hardest part about the creative process?:

I am inspired to create dolls that showcase my culture and resonate in everyone's heart. I love working with bright, happy mediums so that people can visually see the happiness my dolls can bring them. The hardest part about creating is having enough time to make all my ideas come to life.

4. Who’s another maker you admire and what do you love about their work?:
I love The Crafty Chica. She is colorful, so sweet and an all around 100% crafter.

5. How do you manage and overcome creative burnout?:
I manage burnout by taking breaks from my workspace. That might mean moving my crafting outside in the fresh air, crafting with a friend on the porch or even switching from dollmaking to digital art. I find that changing it up can be the best way to come up with new ideas because inspiration is everywhere.

6. Have you experienced a fail? How did you work through it and what did you learn?:
As a dollmaker, I create my own patterns so I'm constantly in trial and error. Sometimes patterns are perfect on the first design and sometimes they are a complete fail. I simply rework the pattern because I know that once I get it right it will be so satisfying and beautiful!

7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?:
Just start! The hardest part is getting started. The ideas will come along the way if you really want to create something.

8. What’s next for you? (a new project? a new technique? a new venture?):
I would love to continue to share my dolls with the world. I am constantly trying to learn new techniques, incorporating new products and finding ways to make handmade dolls better and more affordable.
